OVERVIEW
Ivan began practicing on his own account in 2006 and has practised for over two decades. He leads the firm’s public sector and litigation practice, acting for government departments, municipalities and state-owned entities in significant and complex matters.
He has represented clients in forums up to the Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court, and is a certified mediator. Beyond advising and litigating, he has capacitated municipalities directly, running workshops and preparing manuals on disciplinary processes and litigation management to strengthen how these institutions function. His practice is built on a command of municipal governance and public accountability, including Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) investigations, together with a deep grounding in legislative drafting and policy development.
